For tonight's Net, we have a Mixed Bag of 3 Trivia Questions about the 1960s' Fab Four -- no, not The Beatles -- but The Monkees.
On this day in 1966, the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) "green-lights" a new TV show for it's 1966 fall schedule.
Named The Monkees, the show was intended as a made-for-TV knockoff of other famous "Pop" music groups like the The Beatles. In the show, the four unfamous musicians would encounter girls, mayhem, and adventures -- all accompanied with songs written by the likes of Neil Diamond, Carolyn King, and other 1960s' Pop icons.
On Monday, Sept 5, 1966, The Monkees debutted on NBC during that historic TV week which also saw the first episode of Star Trek on Thursday, Sept 8th. And after just two TV seasons, The Monkees was cancelled by NBC at the end of 1967.
So, how much do you know about the phenomenon known as The Monkees? Please give us your best answers from any of the 3 (reuseable) answers of "A", "B", or "C" (if applicable!) for each question.

Question #1: Although considered a "made-for-TV" band, the four actors who starred as The Monkees could actually play musical instruments -- True or False?
A. True, or
B. False.
Nesmith, Tork, Dolenz already knew how to play guitars. Davy could play drums. However, the producers wanted to put vocalist Davy in front of the band, rather than sitting in the drum set. Fortunately, Dolenz wanted to learn to play the drums and became the band's drummer. And along the way, it developed that Dolenz became a popular vocalist too.
Question #2: According to the Billboard Hot 100 Hits lists, the Monkees had three Billboard No. 1 Hits. These included I'm A Believer (1966), Last Train to Clarksville (1966), and which of the following?
A. Pleasant Valley Sunday (1967), or B. Daydream Believer (1967), or
C. (I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone (1967)
A. True, or
B. False.

"... From the release of their first single "Last Train To Clarksvile" in
late 1966, they were a huge hit. The Beatles had stopped touring (and
even declared themselves "bigger than Jesus"), so it was time to scream
for another group. In 1967 the Monkees sold more records than the
Beatles and Rolling Stones combined, but they never shook the
impression that they were a fake band and by 1968 the whole thing
started to crumble very quickly." from The
