Tonight we are adding a new Question Category to the Friday Night Trivia Net: "U-Pick-Em: A or B".

    Fifty years ago on this date -- June 12, 1965 -- the music duo, Sonny and Cher, makes their first TV appearance on American Bandstand, singing Just You and I Got You Babe.
    Between 1971 and 1974, The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, was a very popular TV variety show.
    After their divorce in 1975, Cher continued her music career, became an accomplished film actress, and promoted several CherFitness videos.
    Meanwhile, Sonny entered politics; however, Congressman Sonny Bono died in 1998 from a tragic skiing accident.

Cherilyn Sarkisian first met Salvatore Bono in a Los Angeles coffee shop in November 1962, when she was sixteen.
The older Bono (11 years her senior) was working for record producer Phil Spector at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood.

Sonny and Cher were a singing duo that mainly sang American pop music and sang during the 1960’s and 70’s. They were husband and wife duo that had been backup singers for other artists at the beginning, but in early 1964 they released some songs under the duo name “Caesar and Cleo.” That did not attract them much attention so later that year they changed their name to Sonny and Cher and released “Baby Don’t Go,” which got them noticed.

On June 12^th 1965, Singing duo Sonny and Cher performed on “American Bandstand” for their first TV appearance.
