You are probably asking yourself: "Who's Lucy and why should I care how she died?"
Discovered in 1974 in the Afar region of Ethiopia, the fossilized skeleton of a female -- nicknamed "Lucy" -- is the best preserved and most complete (40%) specimen of Australopithecus afarensis. (Huh?)
Her skeleton shows many features that look very human, while other features look very ape-like.
By examining Lucy’s skeleton over the years, scientists have answered many questions about bipedal development (i.e., walking on two legs) -- as well as how she possibly died.
Accordingly, we offer for your approval, 3 True-or-False ("TorF") questions about Good Old Lucy (who was found in the ground between volcanic ash layers)..
