Question #1: What did Ukrainian physician Elena Bodnar invent in 2009 that was inspired by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster?
        A. A sub-microscopic radiation sensor -- NanoRadScan -- implanted in a person's thigh to give continuous monitoring of actual radiation exposure, or
        B. An olive-oil based decontamination soap to clean up small spills of radiation materials in laboratories, or
        C. An Emergency Bra, which can be quickly and easily converted into two face masks without removing any clothes.

The Ig Nobel Prizes 2009 PUBLIC HEALTH PRIZE: Elena N. Bodnar, Raphael C. Lee, and Sandra Marijan of Chicago, Illinois, USA, for inventing a brassiere that, in an emergency, can be quickly converted into a pair of protective face masks, one for the brassiere wearer and one to be given to some needy bystander.
REFERENCE: U.S. patent # 7255627, granted August 14, 2007 for a “Garment Device Convertible to One or More Facemasks.”

Question #2: Walking the Dog: On the average,  when dogs defecate and urinate, they prefer to align their body axis with Earth's north-south geomagnetic field lines -- True or False?
        A. True, or
        B. False.

The Ig Nobel Prizes 2014 BIOLOGY PRIZE: [CZECH REPUBLIC, GERMANY, ZAMBIA]: Vlastimil Hart, Petra Nováková, Erich Pascal Malkemper, Sabine Begall, Vladimír Hanzal, Miloš Ježek, Tomáš Kušta, Veronika Němcová, Jana Adámková, Kateřina Benediktová, Jaroslav Červený and Hynek Burda, for carefully documenting that when dogs defecate and urinate, they prefer to align their body axis with Earth's north-south geomagnetic field lines.

Question #3: Recently, a nearby inventor patented an Animal deterrent and training device (CounterWatch™ Sentry) to keep cats off your counters, table tops, furniture, curtains, etc. Ten years earlier, a Welsh inventor created the Mosquito -- an electromagnetic repellent device. What does it repel?

        B. Rats, mice, and other rodents, or
        C. Noisy, loitering, and rowdy kids and teenagers.
‘Animal deterrent and training device and method thereof’ (new patent)
Trouble with cats on your counters, table tops, furniture, curtains, floor areas – or maybe “hanging out at your entry door”? Inventor Shawn Tait of Issaquah, WA, US, noted that “they just don’t like being squirted or misted with simple inexpensive water” and has just received a 2016 US patent for his ‘Animal deterrent and training device and method thereof,
The device, marketed as CounterWatch™ Sentry, is already on sale. Details can be found here.
The Ig Nobel Prizes 2006 PEACE: Howard Stapleton of Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, for inventing an electromechanical teenager repellant -- a device that makes annoying high-pitched noise designed to be audible to teenagers but not to adults; and for later using that same technology to make telephone ringtones that are audible to teenagers but probably not to their teachers.

The Mosquito Anti-Loitering device is an anti-loitering device that works as the perfect wireless security alarm system if you have problems with teenagers loitering near your property or business.
