Insomniac-Net Questions -- Friday[31], Aug 04, 2017
Tonight's Topic: Red Suns
Good morning/evening, everybody! Thank you for joining us tonight.
We hope you'll discover something interesting during the time we spend together on the Insomniac Net for the next 90+ minutes.
-- The ever-delightful Shelley [KF7TBA] and just plain old LW [K7LWA] (email K7LWA.INS@gmail.com).
(Please Note: The Net Controller's Answers are always CORRECT (even if they aren't every time!)
Please check out Winsystem's Insomniac Trivia Net page.
You can get these Questions & Answers at the Yahoo-groups' Messages Link.

As the temperatures climbed into the 90s here in the Peoples' Republic of Seatac (A Planned Airport Community), we also have endured couple days of smokey air.
Much of this smoke has come from wildfires burning in Canada's British Columbia.
As a result we have witnessed several spectacular red sunrises and sunsets.
Accordingly, we offer for your approval, 3 questions about why we are seeing Red Suns?
Please choose your answers from any of the 3 (reuseable) answers of "A", "B", or "C" (if applicable!) for each of the following question
Good Luck and remember, YOU are always a WINNER with us, regardless of your actual answers!
OK, put on your smoke-mask, and venture outside....
++ Red Suns ++
Question #1: Although we may occasionally see red suns, orange moons, and rainbows, the light coming in from the sun is white with all wavelengths. True of false?
        A. True, or
        B. False.
Question #2: The scattering of light by small particles in the atmosphere -- which causes red sunrises/sunsets and also makes the sky blue --  is technically known by which of the following terms?
        A. Brownian Motion, or
        B. Rayleigh Scattering, or
        C. Doppler shift.
Question #3: In our atmosphere, short wavelengths (purple and blue) are scattered much more than longer wavelengths (orange and red). True or false?
        A. True, or
        B. False.
