It did get pretty late here....the 2 hour Net that preceeded Little Charlie's debut went the full 2 hours.
After the Net inquired if anyone wanted to use the WIN system, there was the unmistakable voice of [Q1-A] Little Charlie calling from the Masada, overlooking the Dead Sea.
[Q2-A] Little Charlie followed every protocol and first connected with Chuck Erickson.
[Q2-B] After a few minutes Little Charlie asked to connect with my call sign.
It really was fun.
Little Charlie asked how many people I thought were listening....I told him that there was likely a large number of listeners because a very active Net had just ended.
The Net leader came on and said there had been 131 participants on his Net and there followed a fun exchange between the Net leader *(er, kinda like [Q3-C]) and Little Charlie.
[Q3-A] A couple of other Hams chimed in with how impressive the lad was on his first QSO.
Charles Sr. also spoke about the merit badge his first QSO will get.
It was a great night in the Ham community I must say.

...Little Charlie's call sign is KI7DUV. When he keyed up in Israel he added a letter and number to his call sign.
[Q2-A] His first contact was with long time family friend Chuck Erickson in Glendale, Arizona (K7CAE).
